About

Since Columbine High School (CHS) opened in 1973, the school has established strong traditions and a culture of Rebel Pride. This pride is rooted in the fact that we are a close-knit family and community of learners.

Columbine is committed to high standards of learning for all students, valuing each and every member of our school community. We expect personal and collective responsibility and promote high levels of engagement and performance in learning, which results in future life success.

Academic Achievements

AP Capstone Diploma School in Jefferson County, developing students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting.
Of the 884 AP exams taken in 2023, 71% earned a 3 or higher. Our AP Program boasts 67 AP
Scholars, 24 AP Scholars with Honor, 49 AP Scholars with Distinction for taking and passing multiple AP Exams.
The only south area AP Capstone Diploma program had 30 students earn this distinction.

The Geometry in Construction program is the first to build a complete tiny home.

Winner of the Eliza Pickrell Routt Award for registering the most teen voters in Colorado
Annual day of service involves over 1,200 students in community projects
The Marching Rebels placed in the top-10 marching bands in the state in 2023.
First high school to host a yearly Blind Café event
Unity in Action club sponsors biannual Coffee Jam that benefits local and international charities, including the Rolina Children’s Home in Tanzania
Top-rated high school partnership with Vitalant (formerly Bonfils) Blood Drive; top donor in the state
Annual Run for Remembrance 5K
Variety of peer mentoring programs
Award-winning drama program’s recent shows include Clue, Badger, Beauty and the Beast, Freaky Friday, Chicago Teen (2024), A Play About a Dragon (2023).
