Pride Time
What is Pride Time? Pride Time is a dedicated block of time, from 2:24 to 3:20 p.m. on Silver Days, for students to visit with teachers or mentors for academic support – ask questions, work on a project or make up missed work.
How It Works
- Teacher & Student Requests: Both teachers and students can request “Pride Time”. This requested time shows up directly on the student’s schedule.
- Open to Everyone: Any student can visit a teacher for help during this time, it does not need to be scheduled.
- Required Attendance: Students with a D or F in any class are required to see their teacher for support. Teachers will schedule the required Pride Time, in the event of a D or F. This is not a punishment—it is an opportunity to get targeted help, master the material, and raise grades.
- Peer Support: Students can also visit the Rebel Room, where peer mentors and a certified teacher are available for extra help.
- Important Note: Pride Time is part of the regular school schedule. Students must not schedule outside jobs or personal appointments during this time.
- Students not requested for Pride Time are encouraged to use the time to start homework or work on other academic related activities.
