Bio
As a 4th generation Coloradan, you can usually find me enjoying all Colorado has to offer (especially summer mountain get aways), reading a book (my TBR pile is ridiculous), browsing the shelves at our Jeffco Public Libraries (I just love shelf browsing), or hanging out with my two amazing daughters and my brilliant husband (we are always on the search for the best meals and views this world has to offer - suggestions welcome and encouraged).
Why Columbine?
While working at the district level, I had the unique opportunity to visit nearly every school. When it came time to choose my new home, the decision was easy.
Many schools have wonderful communities and dedicated teachers, Columbine has all of that and more. The one thing that truly tipped the scales for me was the incredible support from the administration. I knew this was a place where I could not only contribute but also continue to grow. This is the school I believe—nay, know—I can thrive.
And beyond the staff and leadership, there’s the spirit of this place. The "We are...Columbine" chant moves me every single time I hear it, reminding me that the students, families, and staff all work together to make this community so special.
My door is always open. Please stop by the library to say hello, find your next favorite book, or just discover a quiet place to think. I can't wait to see you.
What I Love About What I Teach
Being a school librarian brings together my passion for teaching and for creating life long learners. The ability to learn how to do school well is only a small part of who students will be in their life - understanding the depth and wealth of our community and the services available through libraries is invaluable. I strive to create an place where all students feel welcome and they can find progtrams and services that support them with whatever their needs are that day. Being comfortable in the library means you will always have a place that feels like home.
